Racing100 Statistics Explained - Racing100 provides overall
rankings, visitor statistics and quality rankings for every
horse racing website/service listed in our directory.
| |
In order to determine which are the best racing websites in the
UK we rank and rate every website according to quality, traffic
and user feedback. Rankings for each service are updated
on a fortnightly basis to include the latest changes in traffic
volumes, user comments and quality ratings.

We believe that in order to evaluate a service, and
especially a horse racing service, you usually need more information than
the website itself provides. We use a combination of user feedback, informed comment and statistics
to evaluate every horse racing website or service. For every website listed in our directory we
provide the following:
1. Short Description
A synopsis of what the service/website offers, written by a Racing100
reviewer.
2. Quality (or 'Star') Rating
Websites/services are given a 'Star Rating' by our reviewers when they
are added to the racing100 website. This quality rating is from
zero to five, five being the highest possible rating. The website
quality rating is based on the professionalism of the site, how easy it
is to navigate, the depth and breadth of information provided and
whether the site fulfils what it sets out to achieve.
3. Overall Rank
This is the ranking a website or service has achieved after all other
rankings and ratings are taken into account. This 'final' ranking
indicates where the service sits in terms of ALL the websites listed
within racing100.co.uk. It takes into account quality, actual
traffic to the site and well as comments and ratings from users.
An overall rank of 1 is the top horse racing website in the UK.
4. Category Rank
This ranking indicates where the website/service sits within its own
category. A site may not be in the top 100 overall ranking, but may
still be the leader in its sector or category. A Category rank of
1 is the top website/service in its category within the UK.
5. Traffic Rank
We are able to determine how much traffic is being generated by each
website. We then rank each website according to its traffic to
determine which are the busiest. A ranking of 1 is the busiest
racing website in the UK.
6. Visitor Volume
Traffic is only one part of the story. Some websites may have high
traffic, but it is because they have the same people re-visiting their
sites on a daily basis. This visitor guide attempts to display how
many individual people/users visit the site or service on a monthly basis.
We may also hold further, detailed information
about the service:
1. Photo of the Website
A photograph of the website's homepage is
displayed on about 10% of the listings.
2. Webmaster Comment
We allow the service provider or the website manager to tell you about
their service.
3. An Independent Review of the Service
If a website/service enters our top 10 (Overall Rank) or is the top
ranked in its category the site is automatically provided with an
independent review. These are more detailed reviews of the site
and are written by a racing100 reviewer.
The review details the service provided and comments on the usability of
the website or service. Some webmasters outside the top 10 sites
will pay for a review to be included within their listing. All
Racing100 reviews are totally independent and will not simply praise the
website concerned.
4. Comments and Ratings from Users of the
Service
If the website or service is popular (or terrible!) it will attract
comments from users. These comments and ratings are published to the
Racing100.co.uk website after they have been vetted and approved by
racing100 reviewers.
We reject about 25% of all submitted comments
- only quality comments (both positive and negative) are published to
the website. We ensure that all comments are qualified
with reasons for their good or bad rating - this way you can trust what
is being said about a website or service.
